Effective July 29, 2026

The Island Brief (“we,” “us”) publishes a free local email newsletter and website covering Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, and Nassau County, Florida. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you subscribe, we collect your email address. If you visit our website, our publishing platform records standard analytics such as pages viewed and links clicked. We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information.

How we use it

We use it to send you the newsletter you signed up for three times a week, to measure basic engagement such as opens, clicks, and page visits so we can tell which stories are useful, and to respond to you if you write to us.

Who else sees it

Our newsletter and website platform, beehiiv Inc., stores and processes this information on our behalf so we can publish and deliver issues. We also maintain accounts on Facebook and Instagram, where those platforms’ own privacy policies apply to anything you do there. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we share it only with the service providers that make publishing possible.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email; that removes you from the list immediately. To request access to the information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, reply to any issue of the newsletter and we will take care of it.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
